ABOUT MICROSITE GAME - DBS GIVING TREE

DBS Giving Tree is a part of DBS’ commitment to environmental sustainability. In 2022, a microsite game was designed to have fun and learn more about sustainability, such as renewable energy and reducing carbon footprints. Users will learn the facts regarding our environment on the daily tasks of growing their virtual tree. By the end of the campaign, they can pledge to support earth hour and play their part in making Earth safer for the future with insights gathered through playtestcloud.

PROBLEM AND CHALLENGES FACED

• We face background animation issues on various pages
• There was no limitation on the daily watering of plants
• No option was given to add fertility to the soil to keep the tree healthy
• Animal animation was not coming as per seed.
Game testing revealed that the game the score was not correct. Negative points are not deducted every time.
• In a collective forest, the trees are not arranged according to the same type.
• Need to check device compatibility.
• Once the tree was correctly grown it overlapped the beaker.
• After fixing an animation bug, many effects were affecting other animations.

OUR SOLUTIONS

• We compared the designs and the UI regularly to make its best
• We suggested to the client some cases where some improvements were needed to
make the game challenging and interesting
• We tested on different devices and OS to make the application more compatible and
avoid system, device, or OS-specific issues.

• In our game testing process we tried to play the game as much as possible to ensure that no bugs or errors arise
once the user reaches a certain level.
• We conducted performance testing the application after fixes regularly to avoid the bugs arising due to the fixes
made by developers.

REQUIREMENTS

• The client needed the UI/UX to be attractive enough.
• The client’s need was to make the game interesting and challenging which attracts users to           play thus highlighting the importance microservice testing.
• The client wanted the animation to be as attractive and the game to be addictive.
• The client wanted the game to be hassle-free and easy to understand.
• The client’s perspective included the knowledge-based tasks also which were implemented in the MCQ-based quiz available on microsite website.

TOOLS AND TECHNOLOGIES

• We used Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge Browsers.
• We used Browser stack for different Windows and Mac.

BENEFITS TO THE CLIENT

• The number of users increased.
• The game testers ensured that game runs smoothly and hustle-free.
